Goodbye old website

June 30th, 2009 — 1:28pm

Boy oh boy!  It took me nearly a year to work on the new website.  It wasn’t because it was difficult but we never anticipated the growth of our company in such a way that we even had to add Fernan to our team to catch up with all the work.  We can’t complain for the success and positive response that we’ve received in such a short amount of time.  Thank you Fernan for all your help to allow me to work on the website.  I’m still working on a few things but the main content is finished.  We will keep you updated of the new changes.

For the people that understand a little bit about web design, behind the scenes this website has some cool features.  I decided to build the website using a combination of flash and html.  Flash is still not recognized by search engines so if we used flash only we would have limited our presence in the internet.  Html is search engine friendly so it has more accessibility.   I used the new web standards which relies most of the design on CSS (cascading style sheets).  Our portfolio is displayed in flash using SSP (slide show pro) and is powered by SSP Director.  This technology allows us to refresh the content of the portfolio without the hassle of programing.  Perfect feature for photographers!

I hope you guys like it and visit us frequently as we will be changing the content of the site and the blog quite often.

New website launched!

June 23rd, 2009 — 12:18pm

Well, here it is!  The long awaited Villota & Simpson website that I’ve been yapping about for months.   I’d love to say I had something to do with it’s creation but I’m afraid that honor needs to go to Gonzalo.  Yes folks, not only is the man an amazing photographer but he also builds websites!  The good news is the reason it took so long to actually launch the new site has been because we have been so overwhelmed with new projects.  You might say we hit the floor running and we haven’t slowed down yet.  It’s been a whirlwind ride and we’re loving it!  We’ve had the opportunity to not only work on some great projects, but work with some truly amazing people.  It’s been really rewarding to be able to count many of these people as friends as we continue to move forward in this venture.  I look forward to telling you all about them and our current escapades in future bloggings.  Be sure to check back often as both Gonzalo and I plan on sharing lots of goodies.
Until then…
Kim
